Lock Installation for Homes & Businesses
Installation is where a lock either becomes security or becomes decoration. Correct backset, square bore, a bolt that throws freely, a strike screwed into framing. Miss any of those and the lock underperforms its rating.
We fit into existing preparations and bore new doors and jambs where there is nothing there. Metal, fibreglass, solid wood and hollow-core doors all take different preparation and different fixings.
Every install ends with the same check: bolt throws fully with the door closed, strike is fixed into framing, key turns without lifting or leaning on the door. If any of those fail, the door gets adjusted before we leave.
What the job involves
-
New bores done accurately
Jigs, not freehand hole saws.
-
Fixings matched to the door
Metal, fibreglass, solid and hollow core each get the right treatment.
-
Checked closed, not just open
A bolt that only throws with the door open is not fitted.

Common questions
Can you fit a deadbolt where there is no hole?
Yes. Boring the door and jamb is routine and it is priced on top of the fitting labour.
Do you fit locks on metal doors?
Yes, including commercial hollow metal. It takes longer than wood and is priced accordingly.
How long does one door take?
Twenty minutes into an existing preparation. Forty-five to sixty if the door has to be bored.

Locked myself out at eleven at night with a toddler asleep upstairs. Quoted me on the phone, arrived in half an hour, had the door open in under five minutes without a scratch on it. Charged exactly what was quoted.

We turn over about forty units a year and they handle every rekey. Invoiced to the office, keying schedule emailed the same day, never had to chase them.

Dealer wanted a tow plus two days for a lost Kia key. These guys did it in my driveway in about an hour for a lot less. Two keys, both tested before he left.

Panic bar failed on a Friday during service. They came out after close, fixed it properly and talked me through what the inspector would be looking for.
