Security Locks & Door Reinforcement
Almost nobody defeats a lock. They defeat the door, the jamb, the strike or the glass beside it. Security work means looking at the whole opening, not just the thing keys go into.
A survey covers the bolt throw, the strike and its fixings, the frame and whether it is packed to the stud, the hinge side, and any glazing within arm's reach of the thumbturn. Then we fix the weakest thing first.
That is often not the lock. A Grade 1 deadbolt into a jamb held by three-quarter-inch screws is theatre. Reinforcing the strike costs a fraction of the deadbolt and does more.

Common questions
What is the single best security upgrade?
A reinforced box strike with three-inch screws into the stud. It costs very little and it changes how a door fails.
Do I need bars on the windows?
Rarely, and they carry a serious fire-escape cost. Laminated glazing film and window locks usually get you further.
Can you do a survey without me buying anything?
