Remote Keyless Entry & Fob Programming
Remote keyless entry covers everything from a three-button fob on a keyring to a proximity key that stays in your pocket while the car detects it. Both are programmed to the vehicle, not just bought.
Pairing a remote is a different procedure from programming a transponder, and plenty of vehicles need both done in the right order. We supply the hardware, pair it and then test lock, unlock, boot and panic before packing up.
Proximity and push-to-start systems cost more because the hardware is dearer and the programming is longer. A handful of very recent European models are locked to the dealer network, and we say so on the phone rather than after arriving.
What the job involves

Honest about the exceptions
If a model can only be done at a dealer, you hear it before we drive out.

Common questions
My fob stopped working. Is it broken?
Usually it is the coin cell. Try that first, and we will change it for you if you would rather. If a new battery does not fix it, the fob may need re-pairing or replacing.
Can you do push-to-start smart keys?
Yes, for most makes. A few recent European models are dealer-only and we will tell you which side of that line yours falls.
Will a used fob from eBay work?
Sometimes. Many can be reprogrammed, some are locked to their original vehicle for good. Bring it and we will test it before you commit.

Locked myself out at eleven at night with a toddler asleep upstairs. Quoted me on the phone, arrived in half an hour, had the door open in under five minutes without a scratch on it. Charged exactly what was quoted.

We turn over about forty units a year and they handle every rekey. Invoiced to the office, keying schedule emailed the same day, never had to chase them.

Dealer wanted a tow plus two days for a lost Kia key. These guys did it in my driveway in about an hour for a lot less. Two keys, both tested before he left.

Panic bar failed on a Friday during service. They came out after close, fixed it properly and talked me through what the inspector would be looking for.
