Change the Locks: Fast, Same Day
Sometimes rekeying is not the answer. If the lock is worn out, the finish has failed, the grade is too low or somebody has already had a go at it, the hardware itself needs to change.
Situations where we recommend replacing rather than rekeying: a cylinder that has been drilled or attacked, hardware old enough that parts are gone, a door being moved up a security grade, and any lock where the bolt no longer throws cleanly.
It is also the moment to fix the strike and the jamb, because a brand new deadbolt into the same tired frame is money half spent.
What the job involves
-
Same day where the door allows
Van stock covers the common formats and finishes.
-
Strike and jamb done at the same time
Otherwise the new lock inherits the old weakness.
-
Keyed alike to the rest of the house
So a replacement does not add a key to the ring.

Common questions
Rekey or change? How do I decide?
If the hardware is sound and you just want the old keys dead, rekey. If it is worn, damaged or under-specified, change it.
How long for a whole house?
Two to three hours for four to six exterior doors, including keying them alike.
Can you do it the day I close on the house?
Yes, and that is the day to do it. Book ahead if you can, because closing days cluster.

Locked myself out at eleven at night with a toddler asleep upstairs. Quoted me on the phone, arrived in half an hour, had the door open in under five minutes without a scratch on it. Charged exactly what was quoted.

We turn over about forty units a year and they handle every rekey. Invoiced to the office, keying schedule emailed the same day, never had to chase them.

Dealer wanted a tow plus two days for a lost Kia key. These guys did it in my driveway in about an hour for a lot less. Two keys, both tested before he left.

Panic bar failed on a Friday during service. They came out after close, fixed it properly and talked me through what the inspector would be looking for.
